What types of broiler cages are there?

The broiler cage mode is mainly divided into two types: stepped and battery.

1. Stepped broiler cages

The stepped cage is the earliest cage mode, usually 3, 4 or 5 layers. It is equipped with automatic feeding system, mechanical cleaning system and automatic cleaning system. This semi-automatic operation greatly reduces manpower requirements. Due to this farming model, the utilization of the house area has not yet reached the limit, so it has gradually been replaced by battery cages.

2. Battery broiler cages

The broiler battery cages raises the amount of feeding per unit area and improves the land utilization and labor productivity of large-scale farming. Stacked cage equipment is typically 3 or 4 layers, and some modern farms can reach 6 floors. Fully automated battery broiler cages are fully automated, including feeding, defecation, ventilation, heat preservation, lighting, and automated broiler delivery.

In order to further improve the scale and land utilization, scale effect is adopted to improve the breeding efficiency. Broiler cage is of great scale and management advantages, and three-dimensional or stepped caging is quietly emerging, which is the development trend of broiler breeding in the future.
