Importance of drinking quality water for poultry chicken

As a nutrient, water, like feed, plays an important role in maintaining the health and production performance of livestock and poultry. So When using poultry chicken cages, how should farmers ensure the quality of the water?

Under normal circumstances, we will not drink the water if the water quality is not up to the requirement of being drinkable. In fact, it is the same for chickens. Many factors affect water quality, the most important of which are the water source, the number of bacteria, hardness and total dissolved solids. If the water supplied to the chicken house is not well managed, it may spread some pathogenic microorganisms to the flock. The drinking water system of the chicken house can provide an ideal environment for the growth of bacteria.

The chicken farm should collect water samples at least twice a year, and collect the microbial and mineral content of the water. Water samples should be collected from the start and end of the drinking water system. To ensure that the water is fresh when sampling, you can run the drinking system for a few minutes before sampling.

The pH of the water also affects the water quality and the amount of water the chickens drink. The pH of purified water is 7. If the pH of the water exceeds 8, the chickens will reduce their water intake and feed intake, resulting in a decline in the performance of the chickens. If the pH of the water drops below 6, the use of the drinking water system for vaccination and the delivery of medicines will be adversely affected.

Drinking nipples used in the drinking system. It is important to test the amount of water provided by the drinking nipples and to equip the number of drinking nipples reasonably to ensure that the chickens can drink enough water. Using drinking nipples, it is recommended to rinse and disinfect the drinking system between different batches of chickens.

Solve the drinking water quality problems in production, and filter and disinfect the water source water quality problems. Solve the problem of drinking water quality in production, and filter and disinfect the problem of water source water quality. Farmers should pay attention to the supply of drinking water to the chickens in the  battery chicken cages, and understand the drinking water needs of the chickens in the chicken farm, so as to realize the efficient feeding and management of the chickens.
