Precautions for laying hens in cages

Chicken layer cages provide a good environment for laying hens to produce and live in, so that laying hens can give full play to their production potential, reduce disease transmission and infection, and facilitate management.

1. The choice of the best cage age

In order to ensure that the weight of young laying hens reaches the standard without affecting their opening and egg increase, laying hens are usually placed in fashion cages between 13 and 18 weeks old (at the latest and no later than 20 weeks old). When the chickens grow well, they can be placed in fashion cages at 60 days old or in batches according to their weight.

2. Maintenance of facilities and equipment

Laying hens generally do not change their living environment after caging, so laying hens should strictly inspect and inspect the corresponding facilities or equipment before caging. Equipment without maintenance value should be replaced in time to avoid failure to meet the corresponding functional requirements during use or in the process of use.

3. Prevent the increase of morbidity

When laying hens are caged, due to improper operation or influence of temperature difference, they often suffer from reduced immunity and increased incidence of diseases. Therefore, caging should be carried out at night. Meanwhile, methods such as raising temperature, improving nutrition and drug prevention should be adopted to prevent the rise of incidence of diseases.

4. Control parasites

Laying hens are generally treated with corresponding deworming agents at the age of 60 days and 120 days respectively for the prevention and treatment of parasitic diseases. In order to save labor intensity and improve the prevention and treatment effect of parasitic diseases, they are generally fed with the corresponding amount of deworming agents respectively at the time of caging.
